We have recently accessed the Pupil Attitude to Self and School assessment packages. Children are surveyed using a child-friendly computer programme that explores how children perceive themselves and school. This information is helpful to teachers, alongside their own professional judgement and the usual information about progress in English, Maths etc.
What is very clear is that our pupils across the school rated the provision very highly. Every single one of the nine categories came out as ‘green’. This basically reflects that overall, children enjoy school, value their teachers and have positive attitudes to themselves – more than most other schools in the country. As teachers, this makes us all very proud.
There will be another survey in July to complete which will give us a further update – and in the meantime, we will work on the slightly weaker areas to see how we can make things better still.
As ever, if you have any concerns or queries, do not hesitate to get in touch with me on firstname.lastname@example.org, and I can often be caught ‘on the gate’.
